As we know, social media is an unprecedented phenomenon that has made a massively positive impact on our lives over the course of the past decade. However, it has also created cause for social scientists to examine our heads a little bit. Is the ability to post our thoughts and desires on a whim enabling narcissism?Pinterest fosters this by encouraging materialism and has been described as a “self-expression engine” by TechCrunch.

Studies regarding the psychological and social implications of social networking are continually surfacing. According to a study published by Taylor & Francis Online: Twitter is particularly narcissistic, Facebook not so much. How do you feel after spending a half-hour perusing pins? Perhaps cause for a new study in itself.
